Week 8 Final Week

Welcome back to my final blog! It has been a good eight weeks full of many different experiences. When I started my first week, I had no idea what to expect going into this. My first few weeks I simply watched videos on how to do acrylic nails and was trying to figure out the basics. Each week, I got a little better week by week. I thought this was going to be pretty easy. Watching the videos actually gave me confidence that I was going to do really good. In the end, I didn't do as good as a wanted to but better then the beginning. Doing nails on other people was hard for me because when I try to focus I tend to shake a little. After practicing, doing nails on others became easier but I still never got to the point I wanted to be. Which I'm okay with, I was able to see the progress I made and it did make me proud. Now doing nails on myself was much harder. I chose to do my own nails the last two weeks and let me tell you, it was very hard. Doing my left hand was har...

Week 7

Welcome back to my blog! This week was one of my harder weeks and I have a few challenges. When I first planned this week, my goal was to practice a full set on another friend. The girl I was going to practice with ended up canceling at the last minute leaving me with no one. At that moment I decided I would try doing my first set on my own nails! Before I did my own nails, I went back and watched another Youtube video making sure I didn't leave a step out! I only did my left hand because I felt that I wasn't ready to do a full set. Doing my own nails with basic nail polish is already pretty hard for me but doing the acrylic on myself was much harder. I started by doing the acrylic as usual which went pretty well. Getting the acrylic smooth went a lot better than last time due to the fact I got a new brush for applying the acrylic. Cutting and shaping the nail was my next step and that went a little rough. When I try to focus on something my hands start to shake sometimes and ...

Week 6

Welcome back to my blog! This blog is going to be one of my shorter blogs because I didn’t do to much this week. This week I compared the nails I’ve done in total. I went back a read my blogs and looked over the progress I made. Comparing the nails really helped me a lot because I was able to see all my mistakes at once and everything I’ve done right. I wasn’t able to go to a nail studio and have them look at them but I used my grandma. Her and I agree because we both noticed that I needed to work on smoothing the nails out better and putting the acrylic on better. When it comes to putting the acrylic on it can be hard but it takes time and practice. Next week is going to be my last week doing nails on someone. My goal is to do a complete set and have it look good to my standards. The hardest part about all of this is I want the nails to look perfect, which wasn’t going to happen at first due to the fact I was new. Stay tuned for next weeks blog!
